| I'm reorganizing my lures this winter and want to make a rack that will incorporate the use of plastic gutter material.
For those of you old enough, think back to the days before tackle boxes were "worm-proof". Plastics would melt right into the box.
Are there any issues with plastic gutter material and the plastics we use, - 'Dawgs, D's, Tubes, Medusa's, Rubber Hairy's, etc. - melting or reacting.
Understandably, the last thing I want is to ruin these baits. Some of my "B Team" lures may be stored for quite some time.
Any any experience or advice?

| I've now made 3x of these boxes with milk crate and downspout material from Home Depot, Haven't had any issues with the plastic melting on any of them.

Location: Aurora | Never an issue over the years using downspout and 4 x 4 post cover materials from both menards & lowes. If yer worried about prize rubber, store it in large planos & use big ziplocks to keep them apart. Thoughtful packing keeps the fins & tails straight and they stay clean inside the planos. |

Location: Yahara River Chain | The downspout material is vinyl and I have had no issues with my plastics degrading due to that. Of course, I mainly use my boxes to carry them in a boat and not for long term storage. I hang them in the garage when not using. |
