Guy's who don't have a Weagle or have not used one. Do yourself a favor and keep your money. Those baits are all hype. The fish caught on them were all replicas and/or skin mounts in the photos. The videos are mechinacal muskies that Sir Cady has been working on for years and the testimonials were all paid for. HE, he, he...Do you smell sarcasm??? I'm going to hang onto the last one I have for a momento of course and that is it. Weagles suck and don't catch real fish!!! LOL!!! NOT!!!

Weagles on water = hooked muskies PERIOD!!!

Iceman

P.s.- I was not paid to say that! He, he, he.

I should have my first chance to toss one on Friday -- I will post my review next
week -- with any luck there will be a photo with my report!

Sounds like they are made to excell in the rougher conditions, I will still keep my
Jackpots and Docs for those days where I can use them. Just another lure, with
a specific time and place.

We will just have to see what happens this weekend.

Finally had some follows on my Weagle...still waiting for Ms Big to crunch it though. Any advice on working it better from the "Weagle pros"?

Jeff,

Mike Ice here. How's it going? I am no expert nor do I consider myself a pro with the Weagle. However, I have put some serious time on the water with it since ice out and caught a few fish with it too. I feel that there is no real wrong way to work that bait. I will work it painlessly slow with violent twitches to turn it or I will work it medium retrieve with a consistant rythem or I will work it fast with a erratic rythem that has pauses and off beat twitches. My main concearn is to move as much water and make as loud of a swoosh as I can. Just like any other bait I will mix up my presentation to see what the fish like. If the Weagle wants to dive then that is ok too. I hope this helps you out. Good luck out there!

The DEATH MARCH is all you need!

SWOOSH........SWOOSH...........SWOOSH.........SWOOSH........SWOOSH.........

Slow and loud, just like the maker of the bait!

The Weagle is a great Lure, no doubt it has proven itself this summer. Let's not forget that in order to get that 50" you still have to be in the right place at the right time which is still 90% of the challenge in Musky fishing.

And on the right waters.

It's just another lure. REALLY.

Sure it's different. Bigger, thicker than others, nice paint, (still peels) three hooks, good hooks, but it's just another lure period. Certain situations like a cold front, negative following fish, search bait, throw back heck yeah my first choice.

The sound...........ahhhhhh............the sound.

Mr. Hulbert
Sploosh Splash, I was takin a bath.................
I fish one week a year on a family trip with Lungin...........we've got 5 50"ers in the past couple years, with 7 others between 48" and 49 1/2",and I don't know how many legals. (Dick's Bay, aka, Buck Lake RH) We don't fish hard, maybe on average 4 hours a day. We've caught em ALL on different baits.
Steve, once again, you have a great bait and I wish to have one some day. But depending on the water you fish, not every bait will catch fish on a particular water. Try fishing Submarine Island or Deadman's or Girl's Camp or Strawberry or Two Points or Pelican in a 30 mph wind with a surface bait (and keep your footing at the same time). Not easy. If you're able to catch a day with the water laying down, then the surface stuff can work. But if you catch a week with big wind and waves, you have to weigh your options.......which we do........and use different baits.
If we could only fish as much as yooze guys!
"16th in the PMTT MIKE JAMES"....by a lousy 1/4"!

Put a spinner, walk the dog, or a spoon on rearing lake all day, the fish will come.

BrainSX is a perfect example...........fishes Indiana with no luck...............depends on the water and if luck is on your side. And here's some advice..........throw it when the muskies are HOT!.......or hit em on the noggin!

Steve, it's a great bait.

Well,

Last night was my first time with the Weagle.

Second cast, moved an upper 40 inch fish that ran 5 laps in a figure 8 and didn't eat, even though it sure looked like it wanted to eat.

Must have been my figure 8 technique with the Weagle, as a follow up cast moved it again to strike on the surface, but the strike wasn't connecting to hooks.

5th cast later, 43 inches came to net.

Moved 5 other muskies, with 3 striking and I missed all hookups.

Waves where 2 - 3 feet.

Afterwards, I went to a calm lake section and casted for an hour, perfecting the Death March Swing/Swoose and if I had had this knowledge and technique perfected when I started fishing, more would have came to boat as I then went back to the waves at sunset and worked the Death March in the waves too.

This lure is a tool that when in the right hands of skilled carpenter, will do the job under any and all conditions.

This bait is a totally different topwater walk the dog. Besides moving much more water than any other, you can make it do more than just walk the dog on top. With some time you will learn that there are many ways to work the Weagle. Only had mine out once so farwith no fish, but I am expecting very big things. Hopefully yet this season.

p.s. - the sound this bait makes when doing the Death March is incredible. I almost jumped in to take a swipe at it.

Just another lure.

Hype?

I guess.

I know of about 30 lures that are out in ummm I guess the "Inner Circles" <LOL> hands.
Heard of a couple fish caught..

As a great angler says "Lures are tools" This tool is for certain projects. Give me a negative fish and I'll take my shots. Give me a hot fish and I'll put on a Bucktail.

Have fun people. Life is like the Midge. Short.

I have a question about the Weagle, Can you throw this bait with a regular muskie jerk bait rod? or do you need an extra heavy action? I know it's a heavy bait.

I generally throw the weagle (when I had one) with a 7'6" Heavy Lamiglas or 7'3" Frank Rod (muskiefirst edition no less)....but have had my best action on it while throwing it with a 7'7" MH Loomis. The bait throws itself if the rod has backbone + flex in the tip.

I got the chance to toss a Weagle last nite...I would say you do need a bit heavier rod...I was using a 7' XHeavy All star and could have used a 7'6" XHeavy...
I will say I think this bait is unlike any I've seen....It reminds me of an oversize Viper..moves tons of water and I can see how it could get the big girls riled up...can't wait to give it a more thorough workout in better topwater conditions....

I'm still waiting for mine. Here all of this time I thought that I was part of the inner circle. I guess that they were just using me
I guess every inner circle needs a hole in the middle, that must be me.

Beav, they told me they will ship out tomorrow, so let's hope they show up. I don't even know what color pattern is on the way, so if I don't like it, maybe you can custom color it for me? I just had Stan Durst do 6 DDDs for me that turned out unbelievable!

Grass,

Yes you can use a reg jerkbait rod. I use a 6'3" All Star XH and sometimes a 6'6" Loomis pool cue and can make her swoosh just fine. Probably easier on the back with a longer rod but I'm more of a man than the rest of those guys
