Norm's beaver adventure was described in vivid detail and the actual location of the incident was revealed the same I day I witnessed the hand landing. It was an incredible day, one I will never forget.

Totally agree with the STAY OUT OF CANADA statement. It is unreal the stuff you guys have to put up with. Jeff said it right about up here...I am surprised when I see another musky guy and alwyas go over and chat with them if its possible. Its like we have a bond even though we have never and will probably not meet again.

When I fished with Norm, the fish we caught, okay the fish Mike Phelps caught, just unhooked themselves and stood up for a picture when Norm looked at them. He knows most of the Pelican and Three Lakes fish personally.

Sorry boys, I HAVE to fish YOUR LAKE

My lake sucks. It is pounded mercilessly all day long by everyone.

2T, Just keep the rodent hotspot under your hat. I don't mind guys fishing my musky spots, but if I catch one on one of MY beaver haunts...look out!

Norm,

I would never give up any of your rodent spots. I hope one day I am lucky enough to be in the same boat as you when you hook into another large dark brown furry rodent. I would be your net man, I would even grab the line if I had to.

I agree! Some waters are more suited to handle pressure than others! Yes, Tonka gets a huge amount of pressure but it also gets a huge amount of stocking! Lets keep in mind that some of the lakes in question are pure stocked fisheries! As long as stocking, management and CPR practices grow with the pressure the sport can be sustained. Pressure and angler surveys have caused the MNDNR to consider 5 new waters. We all win! I have no problem fishing busy water as long as I have options and can still find a secret little honey hole somewhere close! P.S. Mak51 I thought tonka was mine and I shared it with Hammskie!

That is why I will be building my own little 4 acre "lake" next year. 4 musky, 4 pike, bass, crappie, walleye and some catfish. Then I just have to wait for 20 years to catch my 50" ! lol

Ben you should know better, that is my lake, yes tonka gets stocked, but it does not get a huge stocking. It gets the same fish per acre as every other lake in MN. In past years till recently with TC MI chapter stepping up to help meet quotas on the lake, it was coming up short of DNR quota. Cool thing is there is a study being done by DNR with pit and floy tags to study the results of stocking yearling versus 1.5 old. That is why we are working hard to get our Banquet in order to pay for these studies and purchase these fish that everyone takes for granted because it is a public water. This year alone the MN Muskie Inc Chapters are spending $10,000 alone for muskie feeders for the Waterville Hatchery, plus we have I believe another $15,000+ allocated to fish, tags, and other expense just for the fisheries.

I don't mind if they fish my home water, just not while I'm on it. And if I am, please be respectful and don't follow me around or cut me off.

OK I'll share with you too troy! I simply meant Tonka is currently being stocked(every other year, I believe) and it is a pure stocked fishery. It can handle more pressure than lakes in northern MN that are natural fisheries with less aggressive stocking in years past! I have no problem with the pressure on Tonka; in fact I'd like to invite every musky hunter on Tonka to join me for free beer every night this summer! Meet me at Fletchers right at sunset!

Fine, I guess Troyz, Ben, Hammskie too, and maybe Bturg, and Josh, Jeff, and .... we can all share partial ownership of the Local Pond. However, now we need to figure out how we can get the other "owners" off the lake and make them stay in their mansions.

Okay... see you at Sunsets at moonrise and Ben is buying a sponsor dinner.

I don't fish Tonka much. I fish Lake X, Johnsonville, and mostly just YOUR lake.

I guess my only beef is when a "guide" goes out of state to speak at Musky Inc meetings and sells a lake they've never been to...apparently trying to keep visitors off his home water. Then, when I go to the lake I normally fish, I meet people from out of state that heard about it from him. He's never fished it!!! It's not that good, it's just good because nobody else fishes it and it's peaceful.
