Location: Otsego, MN | I have an aluminum boat (smoker craft) and believe there to be a really slow leak somewhere. When out fishing for ~8 hours I take on a gallon or two of water (at least)... I can run the bilge pump at the end of the trip for ~20-30 sec with consistent flow. I have had this boat on the water for a week straight and its not big enough to notice beyond having to run the bilge pump at the start and end of every trip.
I was curious if there is a way to locate the leak easily. I know its small but I am super fussy about things like this.
Also where could the leak possibly be? A rivet? A screw from transducer mounts (nothing new installed in last 2 years)?
Thanks in advance

Location: Hayward, WI | You can put some water in the boat on the trailer and look for leaks coming out. Other places to look are livewell pumps and fittings, trasducer mounting screws or motor mounting bolts, or even the drain plug. |

Location: Otsego, MN | I will check the livewell fittings as well as near the transducers and motor. I filled the boat with water this spring during cleaning and scrubbing the floor but maybe I will try that again when I can climb under better and look for a wet spot.
Thanks guys! |
