| Heading down the 1st-2nd week of April....... Is there any ice remaining ??? Is anyone catching fish ??? Water temps ??? Lake levels ??? I know the PMTT tournament is scheduled for the end of April. so I'm assuming I should be at the Cave at very near "prime time"....
I fished the "Cave" last summer and got my first over 40", and now I'm heading back for more !!! I prefer to launch around first light and usually fish until 2-3 P.M. I've never tried staying out until dusk or even later, but I'm not opposed to it either.
I am coming down from Northern Indiana by myself and fish from a 17' Tracker... I'll be staying at Tony Grant's place, and I will be launching out of Clay Lick or Twin Knobs.... If you'd like to spend a day or two fishing April 6th thru 10th, contact me by PM.
Thanks, Jim

Location: Lake St. Clair | Was down there last week. No ice left and water was anywhere from 40-49 degrees with a few shallow bays up to right around 50 degrees. Fish weren't going crazy but we managed to catch a couple. All the ones we caught were on Rattle traps. Water was extremely muddy and the #*^@ was open. Our last day the #*^@ was shut and some areas cleaned up a little bit. Find out if the #*^@ is open or closed and go from there. Fishing should be getting better every from here on out. |
