Looks like another tournament will be coming for 2004 besides the big $$ run by Bob M.

I've been told that first prize will be $100,000 as well but will have an entry fee of only $1250.00 per team. Tournament will be held in late August/early Sept. They also will be collecting a resource fee that will be donated back to the lake. Also will be televised on Fox Sports but will have nothing to do with Bob M or his TV show.

This sounds a little more like it. Hope it is true! Time will tell.

Until the eventis official, this is rumor. Let us now when you have conformation of the event, and the details. My bet is the promoters will let us know soon, anyway.

There are way too many variables at work to announce any future event to be 'more like it'. What is the paydown, how many places? Is the amount that the second place team as high as the opther event? Is the event a 100% payback, and if so, is the total dependant on the number of entries?

Details, the devil is in the details.

If its true I hope its on a "QUALITY LAKE",,not some lake where your hoping for a 34 incher,, it may be more expensive but BobM'S tourney has you spending 5 days on a trophy fishery so your vacation time that you use is at least spent well

I have heard the same rumor and I'm pretty sure that it is not a rumor.

From what I've heard the organizers are waiting to make sure they have everything figured out before they announce.

Kinda tough to announce a tournament when you are not sure that you'll be able to get a permit for it. Kinda like the Simply Fishing Tourn. that has not received a permit for 2004 but must start the marketing now. Hopefully the MN Legislators can get the laws changed and have the DNR approve permits futher in the future.
