Posts: 585 Location: Gaithersburg, Maryland | As a fairly new Muskie fisherman (actually Tigers), I recently bought a new (used) boat and trailer. I'm in the market for a new truck too (prob. $20,000 or so). I also have lots of top quality rods, reels, lures, etc. I've never figured out how much each Musky cost me to catch (and release, of course), but it is certainly hundreds (perhaps thousands) of dollars to catch each one. Considering this, I have two questions: 1. how much do you think you spend per fish? 2. should I change the species I fish for and buy them at the fish market?

| If you turn your phone book upside down and read it backwards, you will find an abundance of Musky Fish Markets listed. This time of year the price is about 13.03 a pound, but well worth it! Save the bones and use as tooth picks; the head makes a great puppet..... | |||

Posts: 585 Location: Gaithersburg, Maryland | Hey Sponge: I could also stand on my head reading it too. wwould I better off spending the next four hours watching "Gods and Generals? I bet Robert Duvall (plays Robt. E. Lee) has guns and fishing rods and is a lifetime NRA member. All Martin Sheen (played Lee) has is anti-war placards!!! He's also too damn short!!! My hero - Robt. | Lol dude! Did you guys get flooded out too? It was supposed to hit in the 60s today, but only got to 43 degrees. We are temporarily stranded, but after a 3 yr. drought, the water sure is needed. 5 months ago my favorite small lake was down just under 34', and since then has reached 85% capacity. W/ this recent ice/snow/down pour, it should be topping the spillway w/in a day or two, once again allowing boat launchage! 2 guys I know were in that movie as extras; I heard it was a decent movie, but 4 hrs. is a LOT of Jiffy Pop....:O

Posts: 585 Location: Gaithersburg, Maryland | Rained like hell, but it was fairly warm. Today was boat registration at my favorite lake. We spend all night there to get the first mooring spots. Fun time, but tiring. Great to see the guys again. We all stand around telling lies and drinking beer! What's really good is that hot apple cider and shishkabobs they cook!! Of course it is against the law to have an open fire at the park this time of year! Hopefully, the Park Police will continue to ignore us! Last year was the first time they lowered the lake. We had to pull our boats over mudflats to get to the water!! This year they are going to increase the daily flowage rate to the Potomac River. Since the lakes are reservoirs, guess where the water will come from. Wondering, is it ok to drain our lakes to keep you Virginians from being thirsty??? Robert Byrd - an American Hero. Wondering...is he the same guy that plays the fiddle or was that his dad? Edited by muskiekid 2/23/2003 8:48 AM
