| I am looking to get another musky rod at least 9' in length with the same action as an Okuma 8'6" XH (4-12 oz rating). Anyone have a good suggestion? |

Location: Lake County Illinois | My favorite Okuma rod was my 8'6"XH,until I got my Okuma 9'3"XH,now that is the rod I use most of the time even though it is a little stiffer than the 8'6"XH.Its also a pretty versatile rod that I can throw a wide variety of baits with. |

Location: Minnesota | look at a custom rod . there made the way you want it for the baits you want to throw . each one of my rods is a different color. so when I pick up a rod I know what I had it built for works for me. thorn bros make some great rods .give them a call talk to Lonnie he will make you a rod you wont want to put down. |

Split Grip or Full Grip. Don't buy anything until you at least pick one up an hold it. Notice the size of the grip and the length of the real handle.
Lot's of good choices, I've been happy with mine.
I will tell you this. I've gone back to my 6'3" St. Criox for jerbaits and gliders. Ya, Ya, Ya, - I know you make as good as figure 8 and all the other hoopla about longer rods. I can simply work those baits so much better. Not great year but I had 2 on Suicks, 1 on a Smitty, 1 Reef Hawg, 1 on a Hellpuppy. All on the "short stick"
What's old is new I guess...
