| Noticed some line fraying while fishing on Sunday, cut that piece off and a while later noticed more frayed line. After checking my rod guides I have a crack in my first guide ( the largest one). It's pretty noticeable, and I can feel it with my finger.
Would I be better off to have a local rod builder replace the guide, or go through the warranty process and be without a rod for awhile?
Idk the brand of guides on the rod but they don't look to be of any I've ever seen before. |

Location: South-Central PA | Have a local builder replace it. Should cost you about $15, if that. The builder will know what guide it is.

| That's what I was thinking. I called a local shop and he said he has someone that could do it for 12$. Sounds much better. |

| If it is under warranty, the maker might send you a matching guide. |

| I don't particularly like the guides on the rod. So I think I'm just gonna have them all replaced. |
