Location: Wisconsin | I'm considering switching my front depth finder (Lowrance) to a humminbird 597ci gps combo. I have a Maxxum 80 with the earlier version (approx. 2005) of Universal Sonar 1. I see plenty of availability for adaptor cables for the newer Universal Sonar 2. Would these cables also work on my older version, or is there a different cable needed for the version 1?
Any help is appreciated.

Location: Madtown, WI | I was researching this recently and found a couple different message boards saying that US1 will not work with the newer birds. Your best bet for confirmation is to contact Minn Kota or Humminbird directly.
US2 adapters definitely will not work.
