Has anyone one the site had any experience in this area? We are thinking of going to Frolanders resort in Sept. Never stayed there before. Would have gone to Bill Sandy's but he is full..

good area's to fish right near the docks of Frolander's, Monument bay is huge and hold fish all year... you can easily go east and NE to Bishops and Big Narrows,,,, Prime location.

I don't post here often but I do fish Monument Bay often and have stayed at Frolanders many times.

I second what IAJustin said above. Frolanders is in a prime location, one of the best in the NW Angle area of LOTW. You are have immediate access to Monument Bay itself and can easily spend all week fishing it. It holds big Muskies all year. 5 miles south of Frolanders is South Bay. 5 miles east of Frolanders, you are in the heart of Bishops Bay. 16 miles to Big Narrows. If these four areas alone, all an easy boat ride from the resort, can't keep you happy, nothing will my Man! You are truly in the center of Muskie Nirvana.
Finally, Frolanders is a great place to stay. Very rustic but clean. The foods good and generous. Good docks and shore power along with a very protected harbor in case the wind blows. And it can blow hard in September. Go for it and have a great trip.

Thanks for the reply....Talked to Frolanders booking starting Sept. I'll come back with a full report and hopefully we could get a group together from the forum. The lady at Frolanders said they have very few bookings for Sept. Prime Musky Time....

6 of us went on our one an only LOTW trip back in 2005 and stayed at Monument Bay Lodge the first week of September. Only two other groups, 6 people total in camp if I recall correctly. We had to deal with heavy bloom the first couple days which had spirits low but it subsided for the most part for the second half of the week. We didn't fish Monument Bay much but did boat a 34"er the first evening there. Three other muskie were boated by us that week with two being PB's, a 48" 28.5lb'er and a 50" 32lb'er. We saw a lot of large muskie, follows into figure 8's, pushing wakes behind top waters, etc. I caught the 48" and by my standards it was a great trip. Even though the bloom was a bit of a pain it made for a more memorable trip in the end I think. We're looking at going to either Vermilion or LOTW next year and Frolanders is at the top of our list. Looking forward to hearing how your trip goes, good luck.
