| What are the benefits of Fluorocarbon leader material vs. using just regular mono? Say Ande Premium Monofilament (page 73 Bass pro spring 02 catalog).
If I'm not worried about my line being invisible am I waiting $ buying the Fluorocarbon? 25yds vs 600yds for about the price. |

| Floro has about three times the thickness from what I have seen. Its also stiffer and makes for better leaders. |

| From what I understand ,the fluorocarbon is tougher . It resist scrapes and rocks better. I hear it also last longer because it's UV resistant.

| Flourocarbon is much harder and is very abrasion resistant. I can troll with it all year on my reels and not have any problems with it. Same with the leaders. Sometimes the fish will nick the line but for the most part I am replacing the snap before I have a problem with the leader material. Flourocarbon is actually dense enough that it sinks. |

| There is a bigger diference with plain old mono vs fluro but it you went with hard mono then you are getting closer. Hard mono is stiffer and stroger then the regular stuff and is still 1/6 the price of fluro. |
