| The wieghts by size are comparable and they seem to sit about the same in the water. i have never really done a side by side... I know they catch fish...I like the sound the old wood ones make better and have more confidence in the wood version so i use those but I know of plenty of fish caught on plastic and would use them if I did not have wood ones..
These days i have a small stable of wood ones I have modified to my liking that are a great compliment to the other Top Water Prop baitts I use (Psyco Sisters, Dirty B's, Twisted Sistr's) |

Location: S.W. WI | To me, the new plastic ones definatly ride lower and sound better, and actually catch me fish!
Lots of guys prefer the old wooden ones, but not me.

Location: WI | I prefer the small plastic version to the large one. The large wood ones are great. You can mess around with different sized clicked hooks to get different sounds. A 7/0 with all the hooks cut off has a really deep thunk to it. Kinda cool to play around with, but I went back to the stock hook size. If they don't run right, open the cup of the blade a little. |
