Hi there,
just find a good deal on a 2008 40 hp etec.
the motor has 500 hours on it.
I was considering going 4 strokes, then comes this etec.
any suggestion? troubles?

thank you in advance.

thank you steve,
do you know if there is something that is worth to check before buying it?
the guy will let me try on his boat, and I have an Evinrude center 2min from my house.
thanks again

Just to be sure I'd have a mechanic take a quick look.

The etecs are reliable, economical and quiet. Ask the seller if he would be willing to pay an Evirude dealer the plug in the motor and print out the data & history. It's good info on how the motor was used.
