Had our first Utah MuskieMulisha (MM) Bash Tourney get-together. For all a must DO-OVER for 2013!!!

What a great time with a great bunch of dedicated Utah Tiger Muskie (TM) anglers always employing them 3Ps (Passion, Persistence, Patience) with lots of time on the water.

A BIG THANK YOU to Jim Muskie!!!! What a fun time and again THANK YOU for a very fun Utah MM TM competition. A do-over for sure in 2013. Oh and can't forget the UDWR and especially SORNO for persistenly pushing early on Utah TM angling...THANK YOU SORNO!!!!!!!!!!!

Time was 0900-1600 for non-stop fishing. As usual day on PV started out with glass like conditions...then roughly 1400 here comes the wind...or breeze however one wants to call it...made holding casting postion and working tough...trolling it was game on for Team Tiger Reaper....

So here goes...not the PMTT but for us here in Utah a FUN-TASTIC time and probabaly the closest we can get...no sponsors but just die-hard Utah TM anglers who put up with Pineview summer power squadrons to fish for the fish where here in Utah the Trout state they Trout and anything else are just breakfast, lunch, dinner and in-between feeding TM tasty morsels.

Jim Muskie MM Tourney format went as follows:

Total TM inches for the day fish measuring below .50 rounded down and fish .50 and higher rounded up.

Each day was a $5 entry fee per angler with a $5 side pot for largest non-carp fish caught while fishing for TM trolling, casting, jigging whatever but must be fishing for the fish where all others are just BAIT.

Total inches Tiger Muskie caught was 419" with the smallest at 25" with largest going 47".

Total side pot inches went to SMB as no other non-carp speices were reported. Total inches SMB caught was 93.50 inches smallest was 9" largest was 19.5".

Breaking it down:

Day one winners: TM inches based on photos was 2 fish 25" and 33" at 58" and side pot SMB was 19" with others only boating one at 16".

Day two winners" TM inches was from Boise Idaho with 2 fish one 40" and 47" smoked us all as no other TM angler could get a TM with decent eye-sight into the net. SMB was close...two 15" reported then 2-way radio signaled a 19.50 inch"

So here are the photos from this Utah MuskieMulisha first ever event and we are all sure a do-over for next year.

Had a blast, great people, great fishing, some really solid fish caught too! It was really cool to see the finest Muskie anglers in the area putting their skills/tactics to work on a very special body of water that we all love! Can't wait for the next one! All the best.

Thank you all!

What a wonderful weekend we had - good weather, good fishing, but best of all great people to share it with. I so wish we had better TM opportunity in Idaho, but at least the drive isn't too bad for us - thanks so much to UDWR for this special fishery. Also thanks to Jim Muskie for putting this together and running it. A BIG THANKS to K2 for the super cool Mulisha gear, we love it and owe you big time.

For sure this should be annual event, but maybe even consider adding a few more - Labor day week, and possibly something earlier season such as mid June. Of course earlier season requires either doing something mid week of having to put up with rec boaters.
