Does anyone pull suckers around using small planer boards to hold them away from the boat and perhaps keep them right on the break? I've never seen it done but I think it could be worth a shot. The planer board is also maybe used as a bobber?

I know Steve Herbeck aka Herbie does on Eagle and I heard even one time the board got hit.

I've done it and it works. I leave the clicker on and tighten up the anti reverse just so it holds it without clicking. A good wind change can make the clicker go off a little here and there.

So I'm not insane! Great! I'm gonna give it a go this fall.

I tried it with some dual fin planers last fall. Worked well for getting the bait away from the boat but the clips on them are a little light to stand up to a hook set. A few mods and it should be good to go this year.
