| This isn't a musky tackle related question, but I'm curious if anyone has ever tried any telescopic crappie poles (no reel seat or guides)? It would just be something I would play around with occasionally for panfish, nothing serious.
My biggest question is what length do you prefer? They make one that's 20', which would be really cool, but I'm afraid that would be too long and a pain to use most of the time. I'm looking at either a 14' or 16' B'n'M Ray Scott Jigger Pole. I'm hoping since Ray Scott endorses it, it is has a little more of a tip to it (more of a L/ML instead of an UL/L). |

Location: Mt. Zion, IL | we used to use 12 and 14'ers as kids (i'm 27 now) and they were very easy to use. tie line to the tip and fish floats and jigs. worked very well for young kids so i'm sure it would be great for an adult. i would think your wrist would be very tired if using a 20' rod. |

Location: Land of the Musky | I took a 20' to Canada with me one year and it was a blast! I did not get any pike to hit it but did get a few perch and walleye. Only hard thing was getting the fish near the boat but I soon figured out to just collapse the rod back down to 4'. Not sure what I would have done with a 10lb+ pike  |

| I think the 20' would be really cool, but I am concerned about how much it would kill my wrist and be a hassle if I managed to hook something. I was thinking it would be nice to have that length and just tuck it under my arm. It seems silly to limit myself to shorter rods when I'm only buying one. I'm leaning towards a 16' (B'n'M Jigger Pole) or 20' (B'n'M Black Widow).
