I was just wondering what gauge wire, or what type you use, when making a lure with a through wire??. Do you make all conections with this wire (i.e. hook hangers, line tie, etc.) Thanks

I use .062 stainless steel wire for the main shaft. For the other hooks that are attached to the thru-wire I use a 320 lb. test solid wire, I believe that it is .040 or .042, I will check.

I use 1.5mm stainless steel for pike. Thinner gauge is good for pike crankbaits but not for topwaters or jerkbaits. I use 1.2mm diameter for crankbaits.

For the thru-wire on our crankbaits we use .04 stainless.
You can get this in smaller qty's at Reinke Bros in Milwaukee.
