Hey guys just want to know what you think is the best handle for this reel. I have 2 of these 1 for myself and one for my 13 year old son. well the grips on these seem to slide off when cranking in. on a few occasions i almost lost a fish because the grip on the handle came off. This does it on both reels.
So what do you think i can put on the replace these.
Thanks
Steve

If you can find any old Lew's Power Handles they would work great. Otherwise yoiu will have to glue the paddles on and hope for the best. My guess is that the 6500 C4's will blow out shortly after putting money into new handles. There are many other options out there. But from past experience the C4 is not a great reel for muskies.

Good Luck with your search.

Hey Steve, try the power handles from Bass Pro. I bought two for some Abu Revo STX reels and I love them. They will fit on the C4 too, also Pflueger Trion 66's. They are only $10 or $11, I bought the smoke color looks geat! I throw Shadillacs, rip 10" craves, Mag Dawgs, that reel with that handle has been a good combo for two seasons and still going strong! I forgot to say COMFORTABLE TOO!

Another option is either handle from the Revo Toro. I have the double paddle handles from the Revo Toro on my C4's, bought them from different forums where guys have switched to the single handle and didn't want to keep the double paddle. The single handle has the same length as the double paddle from the Revo's and is actually longer than the power handle I originally bought.

The power handle of the Revo Toro will mount on a classic, but it is 4 mm thick, 1mm more than the classic power handle. This extra thickness only allows the handle nut a hold on two threads, which makes it easy to rip of the handle if too much horizontal force is applied. If this happened, it will destroy the gear shaft, that cost's about the same as a prober power handle. The correct power handle has part nr: 22031 or 21125
