Posts: 1039 | This is just a reminder that the Milwaukee Chapter of Muskies Inc. will be hosting the third annual Ralph Anderson Veterns' Fishing Outing on Pewaukee lake on Saturday, September 10, 2011. Fishing time starts between 6:00 and 7:00 and we fish until noon. Registration/check in is at Smokey's Muskie Shop on Pewaukee Lake. Veterns need to make sure they bring a fishing license and any rain/cold weather gear that they wish to have. Chapter members will provide the boats and equipment. Lunch will be provided at noon and if you wish to fish later in the day, talk to your Chapter member and make those arrangements. If you wish to sign up or learn more, please contact Tom Arvoy at 262 542 9997. Right now we have plenty of room available to take out Vets, so don't be shy!

Posts: 87 | I have also volunteered to fish the event and look forward to spending time on the water with someone who has sacrificed so much for our country. If there is a veteran attending the event that loves to musky fish or fish in general, please contact me and I would be happy to pair up with them. David

Posts: 1039 | The 3rd Annual Ralph Anderson Veterans Outing was held September 10th on Pewaukee Lake. 21 Veterans from the Army, Navy and Marines met with our chapter volunteers at Smokey’s Musky shop between 6-7 am, paired up and went out Muskie fishing until noon. Prior to going out, all veterans received a Muskie lure compliments of Tackle Industries and all participants in the event received a commemorative hat. Judy Anderson and family prepared bratwurst & hamburgers plus multiple side dishes for the hungry fishermen. After lunch a raffle for prizes was conducted and all veterans received additional gifts. Three veterans caught Muskies with Joe Ireland’s being the largest at 41 ½ inches, Alan Nowak’s was 31” and Howie Weiler’s was an almost legal. Many veterans had hits and/or follows but all had a great day on the water and expressed their enjoyment of the day. We received a plaque from Tom Wolter and the Mukwonago VFW in appreciation to our chapter hosting this event. It was an honor to receive the award. Many thanks to the following organizations and people for making this event possible: • Tackle Industries, James Haworth owner, for donating over 45+ lures and a Muskie rod. • Cabela’s and Stephanie Crangle for $300+ worth of prizes • Hays Companies of Wisconsin for a generous donation to the food via Geoff Verges. • Judy Anderson & her family for significant contribution to the food plus all the preparation. They also took pictures of fishermen from a pontoon boat. • Robert Kraemer from Cops & Kids for the bratwurst. • John Laimon of Smokey’s for allowing us to gather here in the morning and have our lunch. John is a great patriot and supporter of our military. • Nancy Hinkforth & Sue Arvoy for side dishes & desserts. • Our 17 Chapter Volunteers who gave their time and equipment to provide a little payback for our veterans: Ader, Arvoy, Berg, Blanchar, Bornfleth, Clearman, Daul, Hinkforth, Julka, Kophamel, Kriss, Miller, Muchow, Phelps, Pokora (G), Pokora (M), Verges.
