Location: Duluth, MN | So guys, I've been invited to go on a 4 day camping trip with my girlfriend and her family down on the chip. I figured I'm going to drag the ranger down with me and do some fishing while they enjoy the sun and tourist activities!
Here's the scoop, I've never been here before (from Duluth). Any advice on areas of this big water to focus my efforts on? I've studied my navionics map, looks overwhelming! But also looks like it could be a lot of fun.
How are the water temps?
How worried about my lower unit do I need to be?
Hows fishing been?
Any particular type of structure to focus on?
What are they biting on? Lol!
Any advice would be great, I've got 4 days to pick at it, just looking for a starting point.
Thanks guys!
Bob

Location: Blaine, MN | It's not as big as you think it is. Fish where there are weeds. Use Ghosttails, Suicks, Shallow Invaders and Pacemakers. You do need to worry about your lower unit. Bogs and sunken structure lurk. Good luck! |

Location: WI | Fish weeds near the old river channels, and big bars like Pete's, Cranberry, etc. Skip the back bays. Use your gps! Watch out for floating bogs if traveling at night (they're not on the gps maps!). There's an unmarked rock bar on the east side just south of the sisters, everyday someone hits it. |

Location: Hayward ,Wisconsin | water temps 77 - 81. You should take it easy lots of stumps and rocks if you r not sure go slow. Fishing has been ok. Lots of good weeds to fish smaller baits work well. Black and nickle work good. Good luck , be safe , and have fun. |
