Do any of you use this rod/reel combo for tossing big rubber baits? If so how does it work. Also what would the ideal reel be for tossing big rubber? Thanks for the help

Location: In a shack in the woods
I have 2 curados one on the jerk and another on a steel 20. My big dawg has a 400te because they can handle the bigger baits better. I use the curados for jerkbaits, small bucktails, and topwaters. My big dawg/te combo gets used for mag dawgs, pounders, dbl 12's and larger, and popping spinnerbaits through cabbage. The extra backbone works great for that.

curados will handle the fish but not the big lures... youll wear it out quickly pulling heavy lures

The 300 will be fine for big rubber. If you have ever thrown big rubber you will notice they retreive very easily. I am not sure why the thought is if the lure weights alot it pulls in hard.

I have a 300 on a Tooth Tamer Jaw Breaker i use for big rubber. Works out great, and very pleased

i have been using that exact combination for a couple years now and it has worked great...i had a luna 300 on the big dawg originally but the low profile curado is much more comfortable to fish with...
