| I have a Minn Kota 70 lb Power Drive V2 US. Bought in fall of 2007. Used during the 2008 season and so far this year. Last fall I started having problems with the foot pedal power / thrust button. I would have to push with all my weight to get it to turn on / go. Same thing this year until about a week ago. Now the power / thrust button will turn the motor on and off with regular touch. Really nice again. I went to go fishing yesterday and now the foot control will not turn left. The power / thrust button works fine, right works fine, no left. Is anyone else having problems with this? Is there any way to fix this or do I have to drop the $100 and buy a new foot pedal?

Location: Antioch, IL | Dust and dirt gets inside the pedal and causes connection issues. Mine did the same thing. I hit it with a can of compressed air and it works like a charm. Buddy of mine has one that is much older. He has taken it apart and cleaned it several times over the years. It eventually needed replacing. Store the pedals in an air tightbag when transporting or not in use. (I do keep a back up pedal in the boat for just in case) |

| So the new pedals are almost as bad as the old ones huh? HA!
Actually, first try using a friends pedal on your motor to see if you pedal is really the problem. If it is, you might get it to work for a time by cleaning and all that crap, but it's likely you still will have to get a new pedal. So, get a new pedal, clean your old one so it works kinda. And keep them both in the boat for "just in case...".
