I had a lens crack in my old Costa Pro Sports and apparently that model is no longer made, so they are giving me some sort of credit towards a new pair. I pay for the frame and they'll give me my choice of lenses.

Plan on going with either the green mirror or blue mirror lens in the Costa 580 glass. What does everyone prefer, the blue or green mirror?

Any suggestion on frames? Like a bit wider fit that doesn't "squeeze" my temples and ears and also have a bit of wrap around to stop light getting in the sides.

Any help would be much appreciated as the local stores have a pretty limited supply to check out.

Castmaster, I have the green mirror 580 glass lense. It's amazing it is costa's best lense. I know the 580 green mirror is a amber lense. that's what you want I am not sure about the blue mirror.
As for frames......I had to go through costa because alot of retailers don't carry all the frames. After ordering about 8 different styles I found one that i liked its called the harpoon. Just call and order as many as you like try them on and send them back...they will of course bill you for all of them and give you your money back once they recieve them all. The only thing you pay for is shipping which is like 20 bucks. In my opinion it's worth it for a pair of frames that fit perfect. One pair you might want to look into is the Wave Killers it's a larger frame with great coverage, also try the triple tail, harpoon, fathoms etc. Ask the sales rep what their most popular selling styles are and that will be a good starting point.

I am lucky enough to have a optical center that carries quite a few Costa del frames. I tried on most and i can tell you that each model not only has a different look but also slightly different dimensions. I think you can find their specs on their website. I can tell you that the fathom model is one of their wider models which wont squeeze your temples. Ken

I have both the green and blue lenses and prefer the blue for general purpose and the green for lower light like morning and evening. I agree with mskhntr, after using a lot of there different frames I prefer the Harpoon frame. I really like the spring loaded metal hinges. They are a couple bucks more but worth it IMHO.

I like the fathoms and have the green mirror over the amber lense. it is my understanding as mine are, that lense is glass. I have a blue mirror pair that wok well on really bright days. Blue mirror over a grey lense. I have a grey lense that I use for drining. Ebay is the place to buy them much cheaper than retail.
