Hello,
I know this has been addressed several times but I was wondering if you guys could recommend a good overall real for Double 10s. I want a reel thats durable and can pull them in as a medium retrieve. The Trinidad and Toriums seem nice but from what i hear if you want to slow down, you can't. I tried an Abu 7000 C3 and that broke from testing new lures in the backyard. I have been looking at the Abu Big Game 7000 IHSN. Any thoughts on this one? Its not the custom low gear from Rollie and Helens but the one with the 5:3 ratio. Thanks

Get a Okuma. I've been using the Induron IDx-400LX and with the 4.7:1 ratio it handles those double tens easily. Its way smoohter & quieter than any Abu 7000 that I've ever use and I have 5 of them.

When that Red Isis comes out I am getting one of those to try out. Should be a real nice reel when Okuma gets it out in 2009! I know they are working real hard on it right now.

I'll also vote for the Indurons great reel even though I run DBL 10's on a Curado.

I do like my Okuma Induron 400 with the power handle for double 10s. Maybe you can't BURN them with it like you can with the saltwater reels people are using now, but the Okuma will be a LOT more versatile and user friendly...and cost a lot less. Really, fishing a double 10 is easy with the 400 and power handle.
