| Can't seem to make up my mind on where to position the front srew eye on one of my new lures. The lip will be at 45 degrees. Will the action of the bait be different if the screw eye is placed above the nose, directly in , or below it? Or, is it solely the angle of the lip that's going to determine the action?

Location: Pewaukee, WI | Why not do a little research and compare similar lures to what you have at your local sporting goods store? I'm sure you'll find some with a 45 degree lip and then check the location of the eye screw. If you encounter several that have the eye in the same place you can safely assume that you'll get the best action by repeating what they've already found out. |

| The screweye location will definitely play a part in your lure's action. Positioning it below the nose will increase the lure's wobble. |

| I've done quite a bit of research believe me, this lure I'm building is a Ukko knock off, I like the shape but don't particularly like the action on the original so I crafted my own. Unfortunetly there isn't anything remotelty close to an Ukko to compare. I've perfected my gliders, but don't have too much experience with lip baits.

| I've played around a bit with this, and it can make a big difference. If you can make identical lures, figure three for test beds, move the eye around and see what does best. I don't have the ability or tools to make copies of a "winner", so lots of ones that are one off's that didn't make but a few winner's. |
