I'll be head'in up north (Ontario) for the opener. I've checked the weather report and a midweek cold front with highs in the 50's is predicted. Any tips on cold front muskies? Lures? Patterns/Locations? Stratedgies?

I have some of my best big fish action up there post cold front. Early AM the day it breaks clear treats me well, as does dusk. Majors and monirs are a good bet to be out no matter the conditions. I usually go shallower, but that's me. Slop and stones on the shady side of things with spinnerbaits and a Weagle. or, you can sleep troll the deep edges, too.

I would bang lures into weeds - spinnerbaits, bobbies/suicks

weather.com - looks like low 70's all week - just curious where you get your report? Not that any of them predict the weather a week out very accurately

You cannot count on the weather reports up there for some reason or another, it's a good idea to be prepared for anything!

predicted temps for next week are high 60's to low 80's nothing to worry about as far as cold fronts.
that being said cold fronts early in the season tend to have good activity many times a burst 1st-2nd days with decreasing activity the longer it prolongs and water temps drop.
once you reach that point options are dependant on cover present.if you have any heavy cover it is the easiest pattern to explore. slow rolling spinner baits like a grinder through it,jigs, ripping weeds with minnowbait/cranks to provoke reactionary strikes. the other pattern if it very extended and or there is no cover is fish will suspend generally at 16-20' where water temps though colder are stable and relativley unchanging.trolling raiders and gramas/jakes with 80-150' of line will get you there.great pattern if it has been a cold spring/early summer and little weed growth regardles of where wi minn, ill, ind, canada. on canadian lakes though unless they are relativley smaller bodies of water this can be a challenging and frusrtating pattern to figure out location.
