Location: The desert | So I took off the handle on a C4 and put a power handle on. However in taking it apart that little semi circle thing that you have to pry/pop off really popped off and went flying. Its gone. So I put the power handle on, disregarding that piece and also forgetting to put on that litlle ting metal egg shaped thing....it bends up and down and sits between the drag star.....Question is....do I need these parts? I cranked the nut I had down on the C4 and it seems to hold tight and reel fine. Thoughts? |

Get yourself a magnet and find that clip (or buy a new one) and put that other piece back. Think Mike, if Abu didn't think they needed those parts on it, you think that they would put them on?
My question is, why are you putting a power handle on a C4?

The retaining C-clip is just there in case the retaining nut comes off you don't lose your reel handle. You could just go to the hardware store and get a new one, which wouldn't be a bad idea.
The little metal tab you mention I think is safe too. I've never lost mine, but I don't see much purpose in it either.

| The little metal thing that goes between your handle and star drag is there to keep your star drag in the same place and not to move around and change your drag. If it is not there your drag wheel may back off and loosen up your drag. It is not essential but I would recomend getting another one.
The "C" clip IS ESSENTIAL! This holds the drive shaft from moving up and down on the post. Without it your gears will wear out much faster. |
