Hey everyone hope your doing well. I think these will be ones that I will make available some how or someway. Thanks for all the replies and comments. I'm not a "look at me" kinda person. It may seem like it will all the posts but my wife will not even look at them anymore. I guess my goal is to make a high quality lure a litltle different in thier own way. I know it is hard with millions of baits that have been built. There are so many excellent people making baits. I know the goal for them is look like what the musky's eat. There are only so many designs that can be made. You guys and the tackle underground are my sound boards. The sucker I am really happy with. All of them have real metal in them. A process I'll keep secret just a little bit longer. I am going to go to copper next and I am about jerk baited out for a while. I have some nice cranks I want to get to. I might call this the "silver" series
The first is a "sucker"
The second is what I call a "yellow belly"
The third is a "golden shiner"
The last is that "purple musky eater"
Trying to figure out a price. The lures are so time consuming. I will never get out what I put into them. But maybe it will help towards saving for my dream boat....... A "Lund"

These are my prototypes. I have no others made yet. Dialing in the actions, pleased with the progress.
I may try to post some on e-bay in a week or two to test the market, It could be longer. A long winter ahead.

Take care everybody
John Snow

Tigger, love the way you blend you colors and the transluscence achieved. You certainly have the eye for making something out of the ordinary.

John,
Just a couple questions, if i may.
What are you calling these jerkbaits??
What type of wood do you use?? (maple, cedar, etc..)
How much do these baits weigh??
Good Luck, they look very nice, looking forward to seeing a few.
thanks, PS

Hey guys thanks for the postive. Just got home from tricker treat. My daughters first one. Lots of fun. Met up some friends and thier kids. and a ball.

What the baits will called. I am not sure. Trying to think of a name. Maybe "Snow's baits" I notice that some of the top bait producers have thier name worked into the thier product. Name recognition seems to be very big and deserving. Again I just want to make a high quality bait that catches fish hopefully. I can't say that I have a track record because I don't. I don't want to get a bait to someone and it floats like a cork. Believe me the time that I spend painting them there is a much time weighting them and shaping them. Just trying to figure out how to have things in place. Not just woodworking and painting stuff, the paperwork side also.

The material that I have in the prototypes is poplar. I am not sure if this bad or good. I notice that alot of the baits made up north are cedar. I have tons of rock maple and beech. Beech is an excellent wood. Very nice to work with. I can see that the cedar is boyant and light for the size. Also good with water. If you have any thoughts please reply. I really don't care what wood I use.

The weight of the lures. The ones shown are about 5-1/2 to 6 oz. I am hoping down the line if people want my baits that I can customize them for thier needs and locations. One guy may want one that comes up fast. Another guy likes a slow sink. Maybe over the winter they request an order for 3 to 4 of them. I don't plan to go into heavy production but I would like to cater the needs of an individual that is serious about his baits. All of us the fish all kinds of fish have times when the smallest of detail makes the difference. A colored hook, a certain belley color, or even lures action. I hope people are willing to wait for a custom made bait that fits thier needs. If I can fill that small hole or nitch great. If I get a following and I can hold up my side of the bargian, a great relationship can be formed for a long time.

Thanks for the kind words about the painting. I am learning as I go with each one I getting a little better. Believe me I have a box loaded with ones that need to be completely sanded down to the wood again. I am really enjoying the learning process. I have so many ideas I want to try. I have not fished musky's long. In matter of fact I just started late this summer. I went from having zero musky baits to have a handfull. I don't even have a bucktail yet! Maybe it is a good thing in the sense that I don't relate to any of the other producers. I am just thinking of things without a preconceived notion. Believe me I get my share of fishing in. I get about 100 days on the water. I put a hurtin on the walleye, trout and panfish species This musky fishing has a hold of me now with on escape in sight.

What I want out of it. If I can make 200 baits over the winter and fund my fishing addiction great. I am not a second job kinda guy. I would for my family needs. But this something that I can fund my hobby. I wake up everyday and I am thankful the gift that I was given. I get to build custom furniture at work and make custom baits at home. I really want to save for a nice rig someday.

Thanks
John
