Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | I do know they should be done with care. I have gone through the second one on my 620. The first one was factory and the replacement was done by my marine service department. I just cut off 3/4 of the gard becaues it was comming free.
Long story short..........Don't pinch a penny unless you get the best info and follow it to the letter.
I am going to remove all the glue and run without one if the rest comes off.
It saves the hull but if it gets hit the gard will loosen up and start to come off, now you still have a problem to address. It's hard to see the scratches on the bottom of the boat anyway. |

| I have done a couple of successfull keel gaurd installations. It is not that dificult if you do it carefully. Make sure you do it at room temperature or warmer. Also make sure you wipe the mounting surface of the boat with alcohol and it will be fine.
Good luck.

Location: Wishin I Was Fishin' | This spring I had spray in bed liner put in my bass boat instead of carpeting.
When I was talking to the owner he mentioned that he had sprayed a whole bottom of a boat for his brother who was a previous owner of Yar-Craft boats and it held up very well, even when purposely driven right into some rocks.
The brand is LineX. I had my work done at the shop in Green Bay.
I can't be more happy about the job they did on the inside of my boat.
I'm sure if you had LineX put on, it wouldn't come off.
I would have done a keel gard but didn't want to screw around with it for my boat that's beat up anyways. |
