Location: Owatonna,MN | I make alot of bucktails and about 3 out of 10 the whole body will spin. I make all of them the same yet some roll and some don't. Can't seem to figure out why. Any help or suggestions would be great. |

| Keel weighting will help stop the entire lure from spinning.
At least it works for me. Other guys might have more ideas.

| This may seem like a stretch but I have run into some clasps that you install the blade with that were bent or not made quite right and put too much force(friction) on the shaft and caused them to roll . Look at the clasps and see if you find anything......Good Luck ..Doug |

That is usually the culprit. the holes may not be quite big enough for your wire shaft, they may not be lined up right, or, you may have a rough spot on the shaft that catches the clevis, not allowing it to spin. One more thing, if you run a bead above the clevis, it may also bind the clevis some.

Location: Owatonna,MN | Thanks guys. I did look at some clevises and some are open farther than others. I think we may have an answer for atleast part of the problems. Will try out tomorrow.
Thanks again |
