Shawano, WI 54166
Mr. Behnke,
I am writing you to request that you reinstate the vote for raising musky size limits to 50” on Big Carr and North Nokomis lakes in Oneida County. This would be in addition to the vote to raise the size limit to 50” on Clear Lake, also in Oneida County. These 50” size limits have been recommend by DNR fisheries biologist Mike Vogelsang as a good start in improving and protecting our Wisconsin musky fishery.
It is time that people have the opportunity to vote on these types of matters without certain individuals on the conservation congress protecting themselves or their interests above and beyond the best welfare of the states natural resources.
As a musky fisherman I realize the importance of keeping these larger spawning females alive. It is the average fisherman who must learn that these large females are the future of our sport. I feel that raising the size limits on these lakes is a good start to spread this message.
Again, I request that you reinstate the vote for the 50” size limit on Big Carr and North Nokomis lakes.
Thank you in advance for your time.
Sincerely,
|
