| The tilt/trim on my 1993 Tuffy with a 115 Yamaha on it has been acting strange this season. When I first get in the boat the tilt & trim work fine. After the motor has been running for a while, my tilt & trim don't work. Starts out stopping the trim up, and then after a bit I can't trim down. Stop for a while, and it might start to work again, but cuts out quick. Anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be. I figure I will try to get it fixed over the winter.
Thanks,
Lance

Location: Chicago, Beverly | Mine has done that for two different reasons. 1st was it was low on T&T fluid.. 2nd was an electrical connection problem..i.e.. broken splice... |

| I had the same problem with mine two years ago. I have an aftermarket on my boat and I had to replace the main electrical housing. The motor and all the lines were good but the main board went. Was like 75 bucks.

| The Tilt & Trim on the engine itself is still working, it is just from the throttle, so it sounds like it may be a board issue. Thanks,

| Start by checking the easy things: loose wires, bad ground, try using the switch on the motor, make sure fluid is full. If can not find anything then get out a volt meter and see were you are loosing voltage. Start at the switch and work your way to the motor. Have seen some problems with the main harness from contrl to motor on these. |
