| Sorry to bother you guys with so many questions, but this morning I was fishing and I've been using a titanium leader and while I was retrieving andall I could see was the flash from the top of the leader. Will this effect whether a fish will strike my lure? I have black leaders and thought about changing, but then I thought that I'm looking down on it, into a dark background and the fish are looking up at it with a light background. Sorry for the basic question, but I'm an old trout fisherman converted to musky and never used swivels or leaders before. |

Location: Chicago, Beverly | The flash can have an affect, possibly.. If you want a simple fix grab a sharpie and go to work on it... The flash from the swivels could possibly cause a fish to hit forward of the lure.. |

Location: Holly, MI | How about trying some 50-80 lb flourocarbon leaders. They are easy and cheap to make up. I went down from 80 pound to 50 this year for the limper thinner line. I also went from flouro to mono, it is much more flexible for action. Also you might try just putting a snap at the lure end and a swivle at the other end. No need for the action killing weight of the swivle at the lure. |
