Location: Woodstock, IL | To supplement the info you receive from everyone on this board, contact Chad Cain. He's a great resource and will help get you started. If he's available and you're willing, book a 1/2 or full day with him. He spends most of his time on that lake and knows it as well, if not better, than anyone. Do it quick because I think he is just about booked.
I spent a day with him back in late February and would highly recommend him. We fished the Johnson Creek area casting tight to shore with loud, bright jointed Believers. That pattern may have changed in the last month though and they may be moving down to the main lake. Look for shad and you'll likely find the muskie.
