Sofar it’s not a bad reel. My trip last year was postponed to this year. I got it for my dad to use on our trip. I broke it in by casting it for a bit. Then took my dad to the pond to throw small lures like Giant and Musky Killers and topwaters. Not one tangle. Previous to this, my dad’s bait casting experience was Penn reels trolling for salmon, and walleye with old Diawa Millionaire reels, Not sure how it will hold up to DC10’s etc. it definitely has a magic brake, that can make someone cast from 0 to hero instantly.

Abu Garcia is also making a reel that won't backlash but not sure if it would be big enough for muskies. I would assume if the reel were successful, they will make it more sizes.

With today's reel's you'll be hard pressed to get a backlash EXCEPT if you throw too light of lure on too heavy line then you will get one on every cast.
