| I like using small jigs/plastics for Tiger Muskellunge. I prefer lighter baitcasting equipment for this purpose. I have a high quality rod & reel for this, but am not sure which line to use, but am leaning toward braided line. Wondering....if I use this braid, should I tie it directly to the jig or use a leader? |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I prefer monofilament for several reasons. Superlines are not 'forgiving' enough when using a creature the way I do. I team 14 or 17# mono with a 60# sevenstrand leader for my jig/creature combos. |

| Last year for the southern Wisconsin opener, a friend and I did real well using bass jigs. We used medium weight spinning gear with 8lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid. We boated 5 fish ,with 4 of them coming on the jigs. Didn't use any leaders and luckily hit each fish in the corner of the mouth. My favorites are an 1/8 oz. chopmers stand up head with a black/blue chomper(skirted grub) and an 1/8 oz. round head(w/ larger Gamakatsu hook) with a 3" reaper rigged flat.In addition to the muskies, we also caught a bunch of bass and a few walleyes. One of the best times I've had on the water. Not real big fish, but we set the hook a lot that day.I can't say enough about the Yo Zuri Hybrid line. Incredible strength, invisible due to the flourocarbon coating, very abrasion resistant. I believe the 8lb has a break strength of 12lb. Tough to break off when you get snagged.Check it out. Is it spring yet? Steve |

| Try Tyger leader. It's 49 strand that's extremely flexible (more so than equivalent mono/flouro? sure seems like it) and it's knotable. |

| I use the same setup that Steve does. Of course, he taught me and guided me through the jig learning process.
17# Vanish (I think that's the brand, I'll have to look) with 60# 7 strand leader.
