Hi Guys,
I have a 2010 Ranger 186 Reata with a 150 Merc Verado.
This past season I noticed that my tachometer would randomly spike to higher rpms all on its' own. My mercy smart gauge told me otherwise. I have been told that my tach is wonky and that I should replace it with a new one.
Has anyone else had the same issue?
Has anyone had to order a replacement one from Ranger so that it matches the existing hole in the consol as well as match the other existing gauges? Is this a hard item to remove and replace?
Any info on this would be much appreciated...

My tach on my Tuffy with a 90 Opti does the same thing. No clue on replacement as I haven't bothered.

Tach is just a set up aid, especially if you have smart craft gauges why bother. No tach works great

What brand gauge is it? They normally have very small writing around the outside of the gauge. Some companies allow you to send them in and have them repaired for much cheaper than replacing them.

I will say, initially it's pretty disconcerting to be cruising along and all of a sudden look at your tach and it's maxed out!
