I fish Tonka alot and I have an assortment of Grandma's, Crane's, bucktails and spinners...All in various colors....Have some top waters and Jakes and Ernie's...Bla Bla Bla.....I am throwing alot of black or perch/crappie colors.....Have some purple/pink spinners.....I am looking for something different to throw.

I love fishing shallow but need to learn to fish deeper from time to time...

If you were to buy 3 lures for Tonka, which one's and colors would you get?

Thanks all..

I usually use a Jackpot (yellow/chatruese/green), but have not had a muskie up on it this year. I have not boated a fish this year on Minnetonka, but I have seen some on Daredevle's (black & white, and all white w/ black dots), a jawbreaker (flo. green) Smitty jerk bait, and a brown Watson's diving Wrat. I caught some nice northerns and bass while using the mindless spoon, and "think" I may get a nice fish on it do to the hooking ability and how seldom they see one. The Watson's Wrats are new for me this year, but I don't think many people are using them, yet. If you see an ugly blue Princecraft on the lake, stop and say "Hi". The last couple fish we saw were very shallow on sand, and we talked to a guy that boated a few nice fish this year on Bulldawgs (?color?).

Baits I would add for metro waters:

Lifesize cardboard cutout of your favorite supermodel in a swimsuit. Brings the jet skiers in with range of #6 shot with a 12ga. :):)

Sorry Dude, couldn't resist.

I've been fishing a 8" believer on the front setting. Reel it sloooow and fish just above the weeds, if you contact weeds rip it like a jerk bait. In deeper water I crank it down 8-12 turns and then twitch it and pause. Seven muskies so far, 37" - 48" Good luck!

Only been on 'Tonka once, but have been on various other Metro lakes quite a bit. I wouldn't go out on any of them without a 6" wtd Sledge (my favorite is Perch), a wtd Bobbie (jailbird) or a 7" Big Game Tackle minnowbait (perch or walleye).

You already mentioned spinnerbaits, so I don't need to say that is one of my 3.
