| The way my boat is laid out I'm going to have a tough time attaching rod holders to the gunnels. Anybody use the 6-1/2" extensions Scotty makes for their rod holders to troll? Am I asking for trouble? |

| I have two of them to help get a better angle on my down rods. They work the same. I still get the nusiance pop outs with them. Seem to be plenty strong enough.

| Thanks Shep, what do you mean by nuissance pop outs? Appreciate the help. ELBY |

| It seems that with my flush mounts, when it is warm/hot out, the action of some lures on the down rods will cause the holder to work it's way up, and then pop out and swing to the rear. Jason Smith provided a good tip to pour water on the holder and mount when it's hot out. This seems to help, but does not eliminate it. It is not a real problem, and I'm not going to lose a hloder or rod/reel. It's just kind of a nusiance. |

Location: Lake City,Pa. | We bought three quick stow rod holders from Cabela's witch comes with the 360HT rod holders that are made by Scotty and mount in the three pedestals seat bases at the back of the boat. We are not pleased with them at all. Had them pop out three times so far on strikes. We are going back to the down-east rod holders. |
