Thinking about starting the boat search for next year....narrowing it down to a few choices, tell me what you think about these makes/models:
1. Ranger Cherokees
2. Tracker Tournament V-18
3. Fisher Marsh Hawk 175
4. Crestliner CVX 182 Bass (more $$$ and discontinued for this model year)

Tell me what you think.....and am I missing other boat models that are similar?

http://www.tritonboats.com has a new aluminum lineup. If you’re getting hitched and there are going to be slamr juniors on the way, you may to consider “V” hulls with wraparounds. I love my http://www.sylvanmarine.com/aluminum/expedition16dc.htm

Good luck and have fun

Slamr, if you compare apples to apples, the tracker and crestliner are close in price with the same motor. I see that tracker you mentioned alot. All have put a 90 on it and it's rated for a 150. Standard is a 75 and it makes the price look good. With a 150 you are talking 20K. Both are good looking boats.

I have not seen the fisher but tracker makes them or visa versa.

Slamr, the biggest ranger dealer in illinois is bedford sales in morris, il. He has plenty of used rangers in cluding a 94 cherokee deep v with a 75merc and an older fiberglass fisherman tiller with a 50merc. There are many more than that there and it's almost all interstate for you to get there. Sam Roshefski(butchered) is the owner and a great guy. They carry lund too.

The one boat thats most recognized as a pure muskie boat is the Tuffy Esox and Esox Magnum. There are more of these boats on the northern WI Muskie waters than any other make or model. Although some are skeptical at first of the low profile, these boats are extremly stable even with a couple of guys standing on the same side. If you'd feel better with a V hull, this spring Tuffy brought out 8 new models of the Esox Deep V. With Tuffy's reputation of being the best riding rough water boat, these boats have taken off like crazy on the bigger waters, like northern MN. Although used Tuffy boats are harder to find than a 60" Muskie, either the Esox magnum or a 17 Deep V tiller can be had for under $20k.
