Although these are lighter and won't get to the bottom as easily, if you were trying to cover the middle half of the water column is say 10-15' of water, could you just reel/reel/pause and swim them through the water column as efectice as jigs??
thx much...may all us N.Wisconsonites stick pigs come this saturday!!!!!! |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Sorry sir, was on the road! The tube baits lend themselves nicely to swimming, just count them down to where you want them, and reel with the rod pointed at the bait three times, then count them down to the previous depth. Will make you crazy counting at first, but soon becomes second nature. To calculate how far the bait rises with three turns of the handle, cast the lure to a known depth, count it down half way, reel three times, and count it down to the bottom. If the depth is 9', and you count it down a 4 count to about 4 feet, then reel and it counts down 7 to the bottom, the bait rises two feet with three turns of the handle from about 4 feet. |
