Watching bass shows on tv I see adds and plugs about how important it is to use line conditioner all the time with applications as often as every hour. Not hesitating to spray guides and reel. They say casting distance increases with less wear on line. Anybody out there use and believe those claims?

Buy a can of spray Silicone and try it out. Don't spray your reel handles. I think it is a personal preference thing. You know the bass guys are always looking for that edge. I have one son that is really into the bass tournaments and it has been a regular event for us to have distance cast off's.

I use it on all of my bass reals with fluorocarbon. Really helps eliminate coils. Not sure how much it helps with casting distance or with braid. Tom

I use reel magic quite a bit, I use power pro 65 and 80 and seems to help with new line stiffness, also keeps reels quieter but you want reel covers cause even though its not oil it does seem to attract/hold more dust on the reel, just my observations, I like it

Probably a good idea to use it if you are using stainless inserts on your line guides.
