well frist i guide on lac seul.i was waiting for my buddie to get off work and so i told him i was just going to troll down the shore line a way's and in 45 min i'll be back to get him for the night bitei got done the rock wall i was trolling and had about 20min still till he got off.so i moved into a nice bay flat as glass to cast a little well i waited and then looked over at a reef i fish and seen a nice ripple that would give me a nice drift down the side of it.so pull up and about ten cast's into the spot i had a big boel about 15 yars out felt the weight and set it and just kept reeling, she stayed down the hole way up to the boat then came up with her mouth open and just thrashing.played her at the boat for a few min's then went to get her in the net and the back hook's on the cowgirl got hooked in the top of the net now i was freakin because i knew how big it was so i held on to the net and my rod in one hand then reached my arm in the water under her and filped her in the net.i set up the camra before i pulled her out of the net, took the meserment then truned on the cam.yeah it was a little longer then i was hoping to have out of the water but everything felt like in slow mow.i did go back out for a few hour's after i got her to.i did see her agin about 150 yards or so away from where i got her a week later she came right up to the boat on a bulldawg.

well there's the storie enjoy

Good for you! And the fact that you saw her again a week later must be tremendously gratifying & reassuring...

Incredible fish--thanks for sharing the story!

Nate, I'm really glad you showed the vid and shared the story of it. I can only imagine shaking that bad after a fish like that! Can't wait to see other footage of you out on the water, should be very, very interesting.
Congrats on a truly amazing catch.

Great story and super fish. And the moral to the story is when your buddies are late go fishing instead of waiting at the dock/resort.

Great story. When I tried to net my 50 it got hooked on the outside rim of the net. Somehow I kept my cool even though I knew how intense the situation was and on the 2nd or 3rd try I reversed the net and got it in the bag. I'll regret not digging in my rod locker for my camera for the rest of my life...but oh well, too late for that now. That's awesome that you got to see her again a week later!

Nate- WOW!!!!!!! It's a great catch & a very good self made video. I felt like I was in the boat with you. Especially where she tries to break free from your grip and where you scream as you're getting her ready for release. My wife heard the scream and asked what was that? I said, just a very happy muskie fisherman!

Good luck in 2008.

Have fun!
