Ok, I think I can say with a high level of confidence that this is the first time the word mycology was used on a muskie fishing BB. So, were you growing mushrooms or developing a proprietary strain of yeast to sell to the booming craft beer market?

True story! Blue Bird skies. Beautiful, majestic bold eagle hovering over our boat on Big Arbor Vitae. Quiet a sight. All of a sudden it targets this smaller bird, sparrow I guess. Not a minute into a chase, few other sparrows join and this proud, lord of the skies turns into a running scared, vulnerable creature. It was amazing how those smaller, agile animals were running circles around this big invincible bird. How do they manage to all sound the same?! Tobacco, cow manure mix perhaps? Nice bike. Had been working on a couple myself. Built on 1983 Yamaha xs400.

Great looking bike! Have not seen sparrows chase an eagle, but a pair has a nest across the lake from our place and I have seen crows harassing them a number of times. Even had one in a tree on our property along the lake with a bunch of crows making a racket all around them. I had been working on the cottage that we replaced with a retirement home and heard all the noise and went outside to see. When I got closer the crows took off and the eagle saw his opportunity, dove towards the lake and flew off, never getting more than 3 feet above the water. Think it was to keep the pursuing crows from getting under him.

Mycology and mushroom hunting took over my musky hunting! And deer, we don't have to be quiet!

Starting to make 60-70 double 8s and 10s for our MI Chapter’s youth program. Nothing like good music and a glass ?? of Maker’s Mark to move things forward. Need to get them done so I can tie a few more musky and bass flies for next year.

I've had some serious blisters and wire pokes making all those baits. I pretty much bleed when I make them. I make the skirts home made as well, I smash egg sinkers in a vise to make them shorter too, double shrink wrap hooks, painted and cleared jigs for the beetle spins in bulk. Making that many baits have to find ways to keep the cost down while making them quality. It's my money. I was very impressed with my beetle spins I bend mine different no hanging up on the jig when cast and run true.

I'm going through the boat. Cleaning out lockers, finding empty bourbon bottles most everywhere. I think I have a problem.
And, I'm tinkering around with some boat lighting projects to help with the spring walleye fishing.
All while getting the bait boxes and gear flipped over for big spring walleyes.

I made them for youth giveaways at the sport shows. Whenever I go back home I could make some more. They are like tiny spinnerbaits, the arm is looped in three places and the skirt is hand made and zip tied. I have made them up to 1/2 oz

Does drinking beer & watching TV count as a winter project?
If so, I've been busy. Very very busy.

Thought of this post from a couple days ago when driving towards Rhinelander this morning. Mature bald eagle flying parallel with the county road and while it kept a steady course, it was being harassed by 4 crows, diving over and over. They were about a half mile from a fairly fresh road killed deer, wondered if there had been a dispute over that.

Been ice fishing and looking at computer screens a lot since deer season. Never been this organized for the ice, way to much time on my hands.
