By the way JDSplasher great fish and the measurements seem believable! Well done.

Let's get a few things on the table in general and also apply it to fish photos and on-line disagreement.

1. criticism does NOT = hate. That type of reckoning is just as provocative as some of the people taking shots at fish photos.

2. criticism that incorporates negative adjectives against the individual being criticized IS petty and hollow at best. In this forum, it is up to me as the reader to discount it and not dignify it with further attention. Those that ask why there is so much hate or lecture that we need to stop it......YOU could just as easily post a compliment, ignore the chaff and move on. It is the internet after all and it isn't going anywhere.

3. Post a fish and it's measurements looking for attention or bookings, be ready to stand by it objectively or ignore what you get in response.

I didn't think to measure this fish that I caught last week, but I'm pretty sure he is my new personal worst...

OK I like this game. Presentation of the fish has much to do with the judgement. Take three pics of the same fish held in various position can get wildly different estimate. We all know this but sometimes it is done unintentionally.

Here are my opinions on your recent catch:
Don't get a replica made
Girth: 4
Estimated weight: I used my own formula and came up with: not much.
If you didn't bump board it, don't share the length, which I see you have wisely decided not to share.
You are a big man to share that
Size really does matter
Who was your netman?

I love seeing those little guys. I catch a lot of pike like that on panfish plastics through the ice but have only ever caught one baby musky. How old would that fish be?

Thuawk, thats a pretty good guess. I wish it was 48". 46" is correct. Any guess on girth?
