| Im right hande and hold the rod with my left and crank with my right. Its the way I learned and glad I did 90 percent of the time I fish alone and use the net with my right arm dont think itd be as easy to net with my left. |

Right hand crank with the bait casters.
Left hand crank with the spinning reels.
I do some strength training with dumb bells. My left arm can do exactly what my right arm does so I don't really have a 'weak arm', therefore hook sets are not an issue. |

| I can fish with either right or left handed reel with ease. I think I work a bucktail much better holding the reel with my right hand and cranking with my left. (I am right handed) I prefer my coordinated right hand controlling the rod and my less coordinated left hand doing something simple like reeling. |

| Both. Still can't cast over my left shoulder, though, so I wind up changing hands between the cast and when the lure hits the water. Awkward. |

| only old school anglers like to switch hand during a cast.it's always better to use a strongest hand when it's time to set the hook,and a good rod control when the fight is not easy.ihave made the switch years a go,the adaptation took something like 8 hours and i have no regrets. |

Location: Sw Pennsylvania | Right handed, reel on the right with casting gear and left with spinning gear, centerpin and fly gear. Throw with both my left and right arm.

Or someone who fished left handed with spinning gear for 30 years before they started muskie fishing and didn't want to re-learn casting with the other arm over the other shoulder... |

| I am right hand but reel with my left hand. If I am using a right handed reel everything just feels weird. I believe it has more to do with coordination with your "non-dominant" hand more than anything else. |

Location: Ames, Iowa | Grew up holding a cane pole in my right hand, reeling a spinning reel with the left hand, so it's just natural using a left hand baitcast reel, which is all I have. Have learned to cast over both shoulders like most here cause of safety of others in the boat. Been away from M1st for about 3 months, some interesting threads. |
