Posts: 32888 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Yes, 1650 would be a great boat for you. It's actually bigger than my 1625 Fury, and I've had that to Vermilion a few times and fish all over N WI. There were only a few X170s made. That ride handles fine under power but has an issue at rest with someone on the bow in 2.5' waves.

Posts: 51 | I also fish rivers a lot and have wondered how a jet boat would run in lakes? Anyone ever used a outboard jet boat on lakes?

Can't really tell from photo, did you leave a space for splash to flow out the drain holes? I built a deck extention last year I can take in and out but this would be nice too.

Posts: 51 | How high does a Lund 1650 ss sit above the water? Is it easy to figure eight and release fish out of? Can you fish two guys off one side both standing tight to the side? I liked my buddies 1400 fury tiller. It was amazingly stable to fish out of.

Hard to tell, but in the 3rd pic, you can see the supports stepped and the corner relieved to allow water to flow out the drain. Here are two finished pics. Don't think I will get it done for the general opener but shoot for musky opener.

I don’t release from the front deck, though. I net, unhook and release from the back. sworrall - 5/1/2022 11:49 AM I have a 60" Ultrex on my 1625 Fury XL, absolutely love the motor. I have the 80#, 60” Ultrex on my Skeeter. Came on the boat but I have a Terrova same size as my backup. The Ultrex is a lot quicker on the turning and more intuitive coming from the older foot control models.
