Posts: 58 | any idea when this motor is available? also what prevents the motor from deploying while traveling on plane? an accidental push of the deploy button spells disaster. Just curious.

Posts: 58 | I guess but most dont unplug and plug back in the motor every time they deploy. I would think they have something else built into it other then unplugging it. The terrova has the plastic collar you can slide down to prevent it

Posts: 1036 | I'm getting one. I love my Terrova, but deploying it and stowing it is a huge inconveniece compared to my old Maxxum. Maxxum had a rope to assist. I could stow and deploy it while standing up. The Terrova deploys differently. So I have to get on my hands and knees to stow and deploy it. I happily do it because the unit is just that good. But I'm really looking forward to having a motor that will stow and deploy by itself! Can't wait!

Posts: 1405 Location: Detroit River | I love the stow/deploy option because I'm lazy. At $2,009.99 I'll have to wait because right now I still need both of my arms & legs for throwing big baits.

Posts: 46 | It sure looks like a great product to me. Does anyone know if there is a manual override for the stow/deploy? I'm thinking specifically about how the motor will or won't perform in sub-freezing temps. I also wish they'd make it available with a HB360 transducer inside!

Posts: 58 | The minn kota website, under the Ulterra page and then under FAQ's says there is a manual override for stow/deploy should the unit malfunction. This unit will be great for guides or people who let their buddies/wife whomever fish from the front.

The fact Johnson Outdoors refuses to make a wireless foot pedal is beyond baffling! Just make that fancy remote heavy and tough enough to step on!?! I've bugged everyone I know that is even remotely associated with JO and no response. I honestly think I'm the only one who wants this. That said, if this thing holds up to my kind of abuse and is salt ready, I'm all in!

Posts: 347 Location: eagle river, wis | The new boat is on order with a Terrova on it but as soon as the Ulterra is available I will put one on it and keep the Terrova for a backup.Had many Genessis trolling motors and really missed the ability to lift the motor up in shallow water and to deploy and store with the push of a button. The Ranger positioning of the trolling motor makes it hard to pull back up to retracted position. jeff

Posts: 58 | Ive got a ranger on order with an ulterra. Ive got faith that minn kota designed the motor so it wont deploy at 70 mph

Posts: 84 | I think its a good idea for the tiller guys,I have a terrarova and when someone hooks a fish in my boat I always hit the anchor button, I love that feature. The new technology is getting better every year, weather its sonor,GPS,Talons now trolling motors. I love it more time fishing and less time messing with the trolling motor. I personaly don't like always having my foot on the pedal,I like having the controller around my neck.
