Alot if this guy is 6'4"+ that fish is 50"+ no doubt about it! You are comparing the fish to his body frame (thighs up).

| 4amuskie- Not sure what the purpose of the things are that look like cup holders, but that looks like a custome deck extension made by Randy Mulder of Modog's Runnin' Rod Racks [email protected]. He made an exension for my 690 and I am very sure that is his work. He does nice work and has creative ideas. |

My buddy is 6 foot, 220 pounds if that helps.
Yes that is Modog's Rod Rack in the picture. The drink holders are used more for tossing snap weights, cranks, etc. into than for actually holding drinks. |

Off topic but what is that piece on the boat with cup holders, tool holder, graph? That is obviously a custom part. Can you explain or provide some info?
MrModog builds awesome deck extensions. Built in rear graph, rod holders, tool holders, etc. He does great work. Looks like factory, only better in most cases. |

Thanks 100% agree on Randy's work being excellent! For anyone with a Ranger Fisherman series who's considering one, it's not just a running rod rack... the deck extension is perfect size for jumping between casting and trolling without having to deal with the cumbersome deck extension that Ranger makes. An added bonus is that your knees don't get beat up from the hard fiberglass corners without giving up much foot space because the rack does not extend all the way to the floor. As far as the fish length goes; the more pictures you use/post the better but it's going to be a guess and nothing more unless you use a professional. My guess would be something less than 50, like 47-49. If you want to get "amateur" scientific about it... print out full page pictures of all the available pictures and use the last knuckle of the finger as a 1" scale because its in the same plane as the fish... about as accurate as you'll be able to get. | Howdy,
I really think it looks like a 50 or darn close. The guys not holding it out far and its a well built fish. I think, at the risk of being deleted, that a lot of people on this site diminish and marginalize any fish (or release for that matter) that they don't personally catch. This fish is no different. Congrats to him for a fantastic catch and release!

| Here's a little trick that I like to do. If you look at the space the guys hand compared to the distance between the anal and pelvic fins, it gives a pretty good idea. This takes away any distortion from hold the fish out as the hand is in the same exact spot as the fish. Now considering he is an average to above average size guy, I would say this fish is easily over 48 and possibly a 50. Not an exact science by any means, but it breaks the fish down into something less subjective. Yes, the guys hands might be extremely small, or big for that matter. But we are all just guessing right? Go look at your own pictures of known fish length and you will see what I mean. |

Location: Lake "y" cause lake"x" got over fished | I would say that it is darn close to 50". I caught a 47" this year that doesn't look as large as this fish, but then again I am 6'5". I would say in the 48" - 50" range.
The fish in my image is a 47" fish

Location: Sw Pennsylvania | Too me if you compare the size of the head on the fish to the size of the persons head holding it you can tell alot. And that fish has a big head.

I appreciate that, thank you. I know everyone gets a bit rough sometimes and that's fine, but that really crossed the line. As far as the fish goes my biggest (sadly) is a 45" and that fish there looks bigger than that. Her body is curved a bit so it'll be difficult to estimate by trying to recreate it. |
